Five From Fairfield County Charged With DWI In NY State Police Stops More than 30 motorists were busted by New York State Police troopers as law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. A total of 18 of those charged were from the region: Westchester County On Friday, Oct. 12, State Police from Somers arrested Edwin P. Loja Cabrera, 21, of Ossining, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 100 in Somers, when he was involved in a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, and was subsequently arrested. Police Search For BMW With CT Plates In Westchester Pedestrian Hit-Run Police are searching for a black BMW with Connecticut license plates that struck a pedestrian and fled the area in Peekskill. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday at Washington and Franklin streets. Peekskill police are not releasing any further information, including the condition of the person struck, other than the incident is under investigation. This is a developing story.
