CT Boat Accident Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Missing
A man is dead, and two people are still missing following a boat accident in Connecticut.
The incident occurred in Middlesex County in Old Saybrook around 9:15 p.m., Monday, Sept. 2.
According to Will Healey, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Police, multiple agencies responded and found a single motorboat floating, half-submerged, near the Harbor One Marina in Old Saybrook.
"There was significant damage to the boat, which hit the east-facing jetty at the mouth of the Connecticut River," said Healey.

The community is coming to the rescue of three Connecticut children who were left without parents when their mother was killed with an axe by an ex-boyfriend.
New Haven County resident Julie Minogue, age 40, of Milford, was found dead by police around 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6 after dispatch received a 911 call from her 17-year-old son.
Minogue was allegedly killed by Litchfield County resident, Ewen Dewitt, age 42, of Roxbury, who was located in West Haven and taken into custody, said the Milford Police.

Man Found Dead After Going For Swim Under I-95 Bridge, Police Say
A 52-year-old man was found dead after going swimming under a bridge in Westchester County.
The incident took place in the Byram River under the I-95 bridge in Port Chester around 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
According to the Port Chester Police, the department received a 911 reporting the man went underwater and never resurfaced.
The caller referred to an area under the I-95 bridge where the man was last seen about 30 minutes prior to calling 911, police said.
A search of the shoreline, by land, air, and water failed to locate the man, police added.

Man Injured In Hotel Balcony Fall ID'd As Coast Guardsman From New England
A man who suffered serious injuries after falling from a hotel balcony on Long Island has been identified as a US Coast Guardsman, according to friends.
Alexander “AJ” Keating, age 24, was on a ninth-floor balcony at around 12:45 a.m. Monday, May 23, when he fell over a railing at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, Suffolk County Police said.
Keating, a native of North Andover, Massachusetts, survived the fall and was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, said police.

The US Coast Guard, along with several police agencies, are searching for a missing kayaker from the area who failed to return from an outing as a strong Nor'easter moved into the area.
The search for Laurence Broderick, age 45, of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, began around 4 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26, when the Village of Mamaroneck police received a call from his mother requesting a wellness check.

A 2021 high school graduate from Fairfield County is being remembered by friends and family after he was killed when two jet skis collided in the Long Island Sound.
Matthew (Matt) Horvath, age 18, of Shelton, died on Tuesday, July 27, in Milford, said Will Healy, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Healy said Horvath was killed in a boating accident in which jet skis collided in the Sound.

A fire that broke out on a boat docked in Stamford Harbor quickly spread to other boats, a dock, and tiki bar.
The blaze began just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Hinckley boatyard on Selleck Street, the Stamford Fire Department said.
