A Fairfield County woman became stuck in the raging river after she went in to save her dog and had to be rescued by police and fire personnel. The incident occurred in Trumbull around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, when her dog was swept away in the Pequonnock River. Trumbull Police rushed to the scene after receiving a 911 call that the Trumbull resident was on the phone with her friend when her dog went into the river and got swept away, the department said. The teenagers have been arrested in connection with the broad-daylight assault of a 60-year-old man at a park in the area late last month. The victim, a 60-year-old, was attacked by three assailants as he was walking through Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull on Nov. 24. The victim reported that as he was walking along the sidewalk on Twin Brooks Drive toward the wooded area of the park at about 2 p.m. that Saturday afternoon, when an older, gray-colored car with a large rear spoiler drove past him. A 60-year-old Trumbull man was attacked by three unidentified assailants as he was walking through Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull on Saturday afternoon.
