Report Of Grenade At Fairfield County School Sparks Response From Bomb Squad Classes at a Connecticut school were interrupted after someone discovered what appeared to be a grenade on campus. Emergency crews in Fairfield County were called shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, after the device was found outside the Middlebrook School in Wilton, near the school’s batting cages. Wilton Police said administrators placed the campus into a “secure” mode, and several classrooms located adjacent to the area were moved to a different part of the building. Suspicious Package Leads To Emergency Response In Westport A call regarding a suspicious package emitting a foul odor sent Westport police officers and firefighters to a Riverside Avenue address to investigate the situation. The call came in around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, for the package that had been delivered to the address on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, said Westport Police Lt. Jill Cabana.
