Woman Killed In Chain-Reaction Fairfield County Crash
A woman was killed in a chain-reaction crash in Fairfield County. It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 on Route 8 in Bridgeport. Toyota Corolla was traveling in the left lane southbound on Route 8 southbound as three other vehicles, a KIA Cadenza, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry, were traveling in the right lane near Exit 3, said Connecticut State Police. The Camry hit the Nissan Altima, causing the vehicles to rotate and the Camry to strike the passenger side of the KIA, pushing it into the metal-beam guardrail, said police. State Police Investigate Shooting Death Of Man On Busy Fairfield County Roadway
Connecticut State Police are investigating the shooting death of a man on Route 8 in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, when troopers assigned to Troop G-Bridgeport responded to the area of Route 8 northbound in the city of Bridgeport after receiving a 911 call regarding a shooting. Upon the arrival, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital where he died. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. A large protest in Fairfield County over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis is causing road closures Saturday, May 30. Connecticut State Police announced just after 5 p.m. that Route 8 in Bridgeport has been shut down to allow for protesters.
