Trio Nabbed After Police Officer Hit By Car In CT Walmart Shoplifting Incident A call to police for a shoplifting incident ended with an officer being hit and seriously injured and three people behind bars. The incident began around 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, when Naugatuck Police were dispatched to Walmart at 1100 New Haven Road to investigate the incident.  A Naugatuck Police officer arrived on the scene and interrupted a suspect attempting to enter a waiting vehicle, said police. Firefighter Pulls Unconcious Person From Burning Car At Cemetery In Area An off-duty fire department safety officer pulled an unconscious person from a burning car at a cemetery. The incident took place on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck, said the Naugatuck Fire Department on Facebook. According to the department, firefighters responded to a reported car fire at Grove Cemetery. When they arrived on the scene, they found the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames after the fuel tank exploded and a small brush fire had erupted.
