Money, Credit Cards Stolen From Secure Locker At Darien YMCA, Police Say
A man working out at the Darien YMCA had cash and money stolen from the men’s locker room, leading to thousands of dollars in attempted fraudulent charges, police said.
Police said that a man reported to investigators that on Monday, Nov. 18, he left money and credit cards in a secured locker at approximately 1 p.m. at the YMCA. When he returned approximately 40 minutes later, he took his belongings and left the locker room.
According to police, shortly thereafter, he received a message from his bank asking if he had attempted to make a $4,253.94 charge at Macy’s in Stamford. He later found…
Man Wanted For Shoplifting, Attacking Employees, Found Next Door At Work, Stamford Police Say
A man wanted for alleged shoplifting and attacking security employees was caught a month later at work next door to where the original incident occurred.
Shannon Gilman-Bey, 47, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 19, by Stamford Police after a dedicated officer spent hours searching for the man wanted for allegedly pulling a knife and assaulting a Macy’s employee while trying to steal clothes last month, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

Macy's To Close Seven Stores, Cut 5,000 Jobs
Department store chain Macy's announced the locations of seven store closures as well as plans to eliminate 5,000 jobs.The latest move comes after a slight uptick in holiday sales in which Macy's reported a 1 percent boost in sales in November and December compared to the same period last year.
Macy's had previously announced it would be closing 11 stores, identifying four. The seven that were not initially identified are:
