Dog Rescued From Icy Waters Of Five Mile River In Darien
DARIEN, Conn. — Darien police officers and firefighters rescued a dog from the icy waters of Five Mile River on Tuesday afternoon. The Darien Police Department and Darien Fire Department responded to Five Mile River on a report of a dog in distress. The dog had made its way to a small patch of grass but had become stranded when the tide came in, police said. The Darien Fire Department quickly donned cold water gear and used a nearby dinghy to reach the dog. It was then taken to shore and reunited with its owner. The dog was not injured in the incident.
