Man Charged With DUI After Fleeing Scene Of Milford Crash, Police Say
The investigation into a hit-and-run crash over the weekend led to the arrest of a Connecticut man who allegedly attempted to flee the scene after striking another vehicle while drunk, police said. Officers from the Milford Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Rivercliff Drive at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, where there was a report of a crash. A Stamford man was nabbed for DWI following a hit-and-run crash after the person he struck followed him while he called the police for help. A 43-year-old woman is facing charges after officers say they caught her leaving the scene of a crash in Greenwich, police say. Greenwich Police responded to the Greenwich High School parking lot (10 Hillside Road) on Monday, Feb. 25 around 7:45 p.m. on the report of a motor vehicle accident. Further investigation revealed that one of the drivers, Ayumi Izawa of Old Greenwich, allegedly struck another vehicle, causing damage. A driver has been charged after a hit-and-run crash in New Canaan, police say. New Canaan Police received a complaint of a two-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and East Avenue on Friday, Dec. 21 around 1 p.m. The police report stated that one of the vehicle’s operators, later identified as 53-year-old Robert James Terry of Hamden, allegedly failed to stop after the crash. A motorist is facing DWI charges after crashing his vehicle into a Greenwich parking meter, police say. Greenwich Police stopped a vehicle on East Putnam Avenue that was driving erratically and had sustained significant damage to the front end on Sunday, Feb. 10 around 2 a.m. Officers say the vehicle did not stop for about 100 yards. ID Released For 68-Year-Old Killed In Hit-Run Bridgeport Crash
Police have identified the driver who hit and killed a 68-year-old man and left the area of the crash. Michael Zrelak, hometown not known, was killed after he was hit by a car on Boston Avenue around 11 a.m. Friday, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Later the same afternoon, Bridgeport police arrested Robert Dominguez, 25, of Shelton, and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash, evading responsibility and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. A woman who hit a bicyclist and then slammed into the back of a school bus while trying to flee the scene has been arrested. A 59-year-old man was located after police say he left the scene of a crash in New Canaan. The incident occurred at around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29 in the area of Ponus Ridge Road near Greenley Road. When police arrived, they found an unoccupied van that had crashed into trees. A wanted Fairfield County woman is in police custody after allegedly striking the shopping cart of a woman outside a grocery store whose child was inside, police said.
