Closure For Construction Scheduled On Busy Roadway In Darien A busy roadway will be closed to through traffic in Fairfield County during construction. The closure on Old Kings Highway in Darien on the bridge over Stony Brook River will run from Tuesday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 27.  All residences will remain accessible throughout the construction period, the Darien Department of Public Works said. Avoid The Area: 14 Hours Of Emergency Sewer Repair Work Scheduled For Route 1 Stretch Due to a significant breakage issue with the main sanitary sewer line on a stretch of Route 1, approximately 14 hours of emergency sewer repair work has been scheduled in Darien. Contractors working for the Town of Darien Department of Public Works will be performing the replacement work on Tuesday, May 14 in the area of Post Road and Birch Road, starting at approximately 6 a.m. The work is expected to go until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Darien Police said.  Access into Birch Road from Route 1 will not be available for the majority of the day and motorists will be required…
