Worker Accused Of Stealing Paychecks From Country Club In Fairfield County, Police Say
Police have arrested an area man for allegedly stealing paychecks and other items from a country club where he once worked in Fairfield County.
Samuel Melo, age 26, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, March 22, by Darien Police for the incident which took place at the Woodway Country Club in Darien around 3:01 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 16, said Sgt. James Palmieri.
According to police, an employee informed officers that at some point between Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 12, several items had been taken from an office space.

Two Teens Nabbed For Loading Duffel Bags With Stolen Items At CVS In Fairfield County
Two men from New York City were arrested in Fairfield County after they were allegedly seen carrying two duffel bags filled with stolen merchandise from a CVS store.
The two men, Isaiah Jordan Graham, 18, and Ahmed Diamasy Sawadogo, 18, were arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 6, after they were nabbed by Greenwich Police, said Captain Mark E. Zuccerella.
The men were busted after a Greenwich police officer working a side job in the area saw the two men entered the CVS store on Greenwich Avenue, with empty duffle bags, Zuccerella said.

Feds: Man Stole, Sold Tires, Rims From Luxury Auto Dealers In NY, CT
An out-of-state man has indicted by a grand jury on charges that he ran a scheme to steal tires ad rims from new vehicles at luxury car dealerships in Westchester, Fairfield and New Haven counties and elsewhere.
Michael Farias, 54, of Providence, Rhode Island, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 18, following an investigation by the FBI and police departments from Shelton, Milford, Waterbury, and Darien, and Bedford, New York, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Three Teens, Including Two High School Students, Caught In Stolen Car, Police Say
Three teens, including two high school students, were caught in a stolen car in the area, police say.
The juveniles, ages 14, 14 and 15 were the subject of an investigation into recent thefts of and from motor vehicles in the north end of Stratford, police said.
The car was stolen on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in Stratford and the three were charged on Saturday, Feb. 8, police said.
Two attend Bunnell High School and the other attends the Boys and Girls Village in Milford, according to police.

Father, Two Sons Nabbed For String Of Burglaries, Fairfield Police Say
A father and two of his sons have been charged in a string of burglaries that included occupied Fairfield homes and vehicles.
Following an extensive investigation, Jose Valentin Sr. 42, Jose Valentin Jr., 26, and Jonathon Valentin, 23, all of Bridgeport, were arrested on Monday, Jan. 27, by Fairfield Police, said Capt. Robert Kalamaras.
The investigation began following an incident on Jan. 11 when officers responded to a home on Riverside Drive in Fairfield for a report of a stolen vehicle, Kalamaras said.

Stamford Woman Arrested On Bad Check Charge
A Fairfield County woman was arrested for allegedly issuing a bad check to an area business.
Kecia Fields, 47, of Stamford, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 14, on a warrant for an incident that took place in April of last year, Greenwich Police said.
She was charged with conspiracy, forgery, issuing a bad check and larceny and is being held on $150,000 bond.
Fields is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Nov. 29.
Stamford Attorney Arrested For Alleged Witness Tampering, Bribery, State Police Say
A Stamford attorney was arrested by Connecticut State Police on charges of witness tampering and bribery of a witness.
Darnell Crosland, 50, of Stamford, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 1, on a warrant as a result of an investigation in conjunction with the State Prosecution Bureau of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney, the state police said.
According to state police, Crosland was charged with bribery of a witness, tampering with a witness and conspiracy to commit witness tampering. All charges are felonies that could bring up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count.

Duo Charged Face Larceny, Conspiracy, ID Theft Charges, Darien Police Say
Two men have been charged with larceny, conspiracy and trespassing in Darien, according to police.
A “concerned citizen” contacted Darien Police on Wednesday, Sept. 4 around 2 p.m.
The caller stated that she observed a light-colored vehicle with New York plates pull into a home that is uninhabited and on the market across from her residence, police say.
The occupants of the vehicle allegedly left a note on the door of the residence which, according to the caller, provided directions to leave a package on the step, giving the addressee and tracking number, police say.
