Wanted Man Lured Child Into His Truck Outside Of Park, Sexually Assaulted Her: Police
Police say a Connecticut man kidnapped a child younger than 13 from a New Haven playground and sexually assaulted her in his truck.
Michael Dewitt, age 45, of Seymour, faces multiple felonies from the alleged incident and is being held on a $1.25 million bond, Waterbury Police said.
The girl told police that she was playing at Fulton Park on Wednesday, Oct. 9, around 7 p.m. when a man, later identified as Dewitt, lured her into his truck, where he sexually assaulted her, authorities said. The girl fought her way free and ran to get help.

The 14-year-old victim of a now-arrested Connecticut man told authorities he was sexually assaulted an estimated 20 times.
Scott Predom, a Middlesex County man, was arrested on Tuesday, July 9 on charges of sexual assault and more following a Tolland County investigation, police announced.
Predom, a 60-year-old who hails from Middletown, is accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old boy, who was 13 at the time the assaults occurred.

Girl, 9, Rescued From Swimming Pool At Danbury Home
A 9-year-old girl was rescued from a Fairfield County swimming pool by a bystander who administered first aid.
The incident occurred in Danbury around 3 p.m., Sunday, May 25, at a home on Westwood Terrace.
According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, the girl, who was unconscious, was recovered from the backyard swimming pool by a bystander.
That person immediately administered first aid to the child, and by the time emergency services arrived, Henry said she was breathing on her own.
She was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Woman's Quick Actions Save Drowning Child In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman is credited with saving the life of a child after she pulled the girl from a community swimming pool.
The incident took place in Trumbull at the Ten Apartments, 100 Oakview Drive on Thursday, June 9.
The victim, a 5-year-old Trumbull girl, was found unresponsive in the water at about 6 p.m. and was pulled out of the water, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police.
A bystander at the pool saw what was occurring, immediately stepped in to help, and began doing CPR and rescue breathing on the girl, Weir said.
