19-Car Pileup During Height Of Storm Among Hundreds Of Crashes Reported In Region
This story has been updated. A 19-car-pileup during the height of the Nor'easter was one of numerous storm-related crashes in the region, although most motorists stayed off roadways. At least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan Wednesday, Dec. 16 during the evening hours as the snow was beginning to pile-up. New Days-Long Hutch Closure Scheduled
Get set for a new closure last over several days on a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway. Motorists have been advised that beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, the Hutchinson River Parkway will be closed in Mount Vernon and Pelham between exit 6 (I-95) and Exit 15 (Cross County Parkway). The closure is scheduled to conclude at 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, in advance of the morning commute. Northbound traffic on the parkway will be detoured at the I-95 interchange. Hutchinson River Parkway Stretch Will Be Closed Over Four-Day Period
The planned closure of a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway that had to be postponed has been rescheduled in Westchester. Last month, the New York State Department of Transportation announced plans for a closure of the parkway on the final weekend of September as part of an ongoing bridge replacement near the Pelham and Mount Vernon border. Hutchinson River Parkway Stretch Scheduled For Three-Day Closure
Motorists are advised that a portion of the Hutchinson River Parkway is expected to be closed over the weekend. The closure is scheduled to begin Saturday, June 30 at 2 p.m. and conclude Monday, July 2 before 5 a.m. As part of ongoing bridge replacement projects in Westchester County, a portion of the HRP between Exit 6 (Interstate 95) and Exit 15 (Cross County Parkway) is planned to be closed while crews perform construction and demolition activities for the East 3rd Street bridge project, weather permitting. Van Plunges Off Overpass On Bronx River Parkway In Westchester
Traffic was tied up on the Bronx River Parkway during Thursday’s morning commute when a van flew off the Cross County overpass in Yonkers, coming to a crashing half below. The driver of a van was hospitalized with minor injuries after he was driving up the westbound ramp of the Cross County Parkway shortly before 6:30 a.m. when he lost control on the curved roadway, went through the guardrail, off the edge and landed in the median of the Bronx River Parkway, police said.
