Kidnapping Suspect: 23-Year-Old Grabs, Assaults, Drugs Victim, Norwalk Police Say
A victim lived through a day of fear and assaults at the hands of a Connecticut man the person knew, according to authorities.
On Wednesday, July 5, Norwalk Police received a complaint that New Haven County resident Enrique Rivas-Castillo, age 23, of Ansonia, had threatened the victim over the phone, said Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Police.
Investigating officers learned that on Monday, July 3, Rivas-Castillo was at the victim’s residence in Norwalk and threatened to assault the victim.

A Connecticut man who held police at bay for several hours last week has been charged with alleged criminal possession of weapons and drugs.
New Haven County resident Eric Warren, age 50, of Ansonia, was arrested on Tuesday, March 14 on a warrant for the Wednesday, March 8 incident at his home.
During the original incident, Ansonia Police responded to Warren's home on a report of a person in an altered mental state acting irrationally and armed with a handgun, said Lt. Patrick Lynch.

A Fairfield County man has been charged in connection with a crash in Ansonia last year that left an 81-year-old with serious injuries.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, in Ansonia.
Arsene Ndabian, age 64, of Bridgeport was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 10, by warrant for his involvement in the crash on Division Street where an 81-year-old pedestrian was struck and seriously injured, said Lt. Patrick Lynch, of the Ansonia Police.

Connecticut 19-Year-Old Missing For Almost A Week, Police Say
Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help locating a 19-year-old who has been missing for almost a week.
New Haven County resident Ariana Bel-Jean, of Ansonia, left her home on Wednesday, July 27, and has not returned, said Lt. Patrick Lynch, of the Ansonia Police.
Bel-Jean left on her own but failed to bring the medication that she needs to take every day, Lynch said.
She is described as being Black, 5-foot-6, with black hair and brown eyes.

A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man after the incident was witnessed by an officer working a traffic crash, according to police.
New Haven County resident Matthew Romans, age 22, of Ansonia, was arrested around 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, said Lieutenant Patrick Lynch, of the Ansonia Police.

Police are asking the public for help identifying two armed men who robbed an area market.
The incident took place around 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Ansonia, at the S&A Mart, at 95 Division St., when the two men entered the market and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the cash register, said Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch.

Police Nab Man Wanted In 2018 Armed Robbery Of Delivery Driver In Ansonia
A 22-year-old area man has been arrested in connection with a 2018 robbery of a delivery driver at gunpoint.
Leroy Shaw, of Ansonia, was arrested on Monday, July 13, on a warrant by Ansonia Police for his alleged involvement in the crime that took place on Dec. 31, 2018, said Lt. Patrick Lynch.
Shaw’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the robbery, where two men robbed a delivery driver of cash and the food, Lynch said.
One of the men showed a handgun during the robbery, he added.
