Alec Ward, age 26, of Shelton, was arrested in Stamford on Monday, Aug. 15, and charged with negligent homicide in the March 23 death of Elena Laos, age 68, of Stamford. Woman Dies After Being Struck By Car Driven By Shelton Resident A Fairfield County woman has died, hours after being struck by a car while crossing a roadway. The incident took place around 6:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at the I-95 exit ramp in Stamford. The collision occurred when a 2015 Chevy, being driven by Alec Ward, a 26-year-old Shelton resident, was exiting southbound I-95 at Exit 9, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police.
