Joaquim N. Lopes, 73, Longtime Danbury Resident DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury resident Joaquim Nunes Lopes died on Wednesday, June 1. He was 73. Born in Dornelas, Portugal, Lopes was a Danbury resident for the past 40 years and retired from Heli-Coil Company in 2006. Lopes is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria Celina de Andrade (Pina) Lopes; his daughter, Sonia Marisa Pina Lopes; his daughter, Maria de Fatima Lopes-Estanqueiro and her husband, Luis; and his grandchildren, Kyle and Alexis.  He also is survived by his sister, Augusta Pinto and his nieces and nephews.  Lopes was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Rosa (Nunes) Lopes.

Theodore R. Ivanko, 86, Fairfield Resident FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield resident Theodore R. Ivanko died on Friday, June 3. He was 86. Ivanko grew up in Southport and graduated from the Pequot School, Roger Ludlowe High School and the University of Bridgeport.  He was an avid golfer and member of the Patterson, Belmont Country, Chattahoochee Country and Fayerweather Yacht Clubs.  Ivanko was an engineer with multiple patents, becoming VP of Manufacturing at AVCO Lycoming.  He helped develop the T-53, T-55 and AGT-1500 gas turbine engines used by the U.S. Army.  He left AVCO after 37 years to become VP of Manufacturing & Genera…
