Teen Girl Becomes Third Fatality In Baltimore Townhouse Fire That Left 19 Displaced (Update) Three people, including two minors, have now been confirmed dead after a Baltimore townhouse fire left 19 families displaced earlier this week. An 8-year-old boy was one of three people found unconscious when firefighters battled the blaze at the 3400 block of E. Lombard Street in Southeast Baltimore Tuesday, Feb. 27. The boy died hours after he was rescued, while a 13-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Juvenile Arrested Months After Making Bomb Threat To Wootton High School: Police A juvenile was arrested months after he made a bomb threat to a Montgomery County high school, as well as schools in several other states, police said Friday, March 1. The suspect called Wootton High School in the 2100 block of Wootton Parkway around 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 and claimed that bombs had been placed inside specific areas of the school. School personnel contacted 911, prompting students and staff to evacuate. Family Displaced After Tree Falls On 2-Story Montgomery County Home A Maryland family awoke to a tree crashing through the middle of their two-story home before dawn on Friday, March 1. The tree fell on a home on the 2900 block of Collins Avenue in Wheaton around 4:45 a.m., Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service Spokesperson Pete Piringer said. The large, “old growth” tree was in the back of the home and fell through the middle of the structure, knocking out power to several nearby houses and causing a small gas leak, Piringer said. IDs Released For Man, 10-Year-Old Girl Dead In Landover Murder-Suicide: Police Police have identified the man and 11-year-old girl who died in a murder-suicide at a Maryland home Wednesday night. Police believe Curtis Lynch, 38, shot a woman and 11-year-old Mailyn Turkes before turning the gun on himself at a home on the 6900 block of Stansbury Lane in Landover around 9:30 p.m. Both Lynch and Turkes were pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition. Silver Spring Man, 77, Missing For 4 Days: Police Police have launched a search for a 77-year-old Silver Spring man they say has been missing for four days. Barry Alpert was last seen near the 4500 block of Furman Court in Silver Spring around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. Road Rage Incident Led To Shooting In Baltimore's Northwest District; Police ID Suspect A man charged with a string of violent crimes in 2019 was identified as the suspect in Wednesday night’s Baltimore shooting, which police say was motivated by a road rage incident. Troy Barnes, 21, of Baltimore, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, Baltimore Police announced Thursday afternoon, Feb. 29.
