Man Charged After Threatening Store Employee, Throwing Item, Greenwich Police Say

A 25-year-old man is facing charges after threatening a store employee and throwing items, police say.

Greenwich Police say they received a report of a disorderly suspect that had caused a disturbance inside a local retailer on Friday, July 12 around 5 p.m.

The suspect allegedly got upset at a store employee, threatened physical violence and purposefully damaged merchandise by throwing it on the ground, according to police.

Officers located the suspect a short distance away from the store and identified him as Jose Monclus, 25, of the Bronx.

Monclus was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. He was unable to post his $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, July 26.
