A 2-year-old boy drowned Monday in a swimming pool owned by a relative.
The boy was discovered around 11 a.m. at a home on Copper Penny Lane in Shelton by a relative where he was staying for the day, according to the Shelton Police.
Shelton Police and EMS responded to the scene and the boy was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An initial investigation by Shelton detectives revealed the boy wondered outside from the house and fell in the pool before he was discovered by a relative, who was babysitting him for the day.
