Car Crash Takes Out One Lane Of Route 8 In Shelton

SHELTON, Conn. — Route 8 northbound is congested for nearly 3 miles Tuesday afternoon due to a one-car crash in Shelton, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The accident is between Exits 12 and 13, and the traffic tie-ups go back to Exit 11, DOT said.

The right lane was closed in the area.

The accident was reported Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 4:07 p.m., DOT said.

It was unknown how long it would take to clear the scene.
