SHELTON, Conn. — The folks at Jones Family Farms have decided to welcome spring a little early, opening the doors to their award-winning winery this Friday, a month ahead of tradition.
Located in a renovated historic dairy barn, the Jones Winery Tasting Room will be offering tastings of an assortment of their wines on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (It will be closed on Easter Sunday April 16).
Guests will be able to sample wines from a new tasting menu that includes many of the award-winning wines the Jones family produces.
“We have always been proud of the wine we make here, and our ability to use our own grapes and fruit in the wines,” said Jamie Jones, owner and wine-maker.
Along with the tastings, which includes a complementary engraved glass, guests are able to purchase up to two glasses of wine to enjoy at the winery. In addition, all 17 varieties of wine are available for purchase by the bottle for guests to take home.
The Winery Gift Shop also features local artists’ items, as well as local honey, jams and tasty treats from the Harvest Kitchen Cooking Studio.
While you’re welcome at the winery as of March 3, the farm asks that you leave outside food, pets and open bottles at home.
Jones Family Farms is located at 606 Walnut Tree Hill Road, just off Route 110. For more information regarding hours and other information, visitors can call the Farmer Jones crop info line at 203-929-8425, visit the Jones website at www.JonesFamilyFarms.com.
