Bernard I. Siller, 88, Of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Bernard I. Siller, of Ridgefield, formerly of Danbury and Bridgeport, died Saturday, April 6. He was 88.

Siller was born in Bridgeport Nov. 8, 1924, son of Harry and Eva (Webb) Siller. He attended Bridgeport schools, received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Connecticut, received his master of science, sixth-year advanced study in administration and supervision and his seventh year in reading from the University of Bridgeport. He taught in the Bridgeport and Stamford School systems.

Siller was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and prior to teaching was an off-Broadway actor. He was a member of the Stamford and Connecticut Teacher’s Association and served in leadership capacities over the years.

Siller is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Randy Siller (Sheri) of New York, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place Tuesday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in the United Jewish Cemetery, 200 Grays Bridge Road, Brookfield, with Rabbi Clifford Librach of the United Jewish Center, Danbury officiating.
