Warning Issued for Freezing Rain

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A freezing rain advisory remains in place until 7 a.m. Monday in southern Fairfield County and until 10 a.m. in northern Fairfield County, the National Weather Service warned late Sunday.

Light freezing drizzle could cause hazardous travel conditions along coastal Connecticut, the forecast says. A light coating of ice could accumulate. The overnight low temperature was forecast at about 30 degrees. Drivers were urged to slow down and exercise caution.

The forecast for later Monday called for rain, mainly after 1 p.m., with fog and a high near 48 degrees. After rain and fog continued overnight, mostly sunny skies with an unseasonably warm high of 50 degrees is predicted for Tuesday.
