Hussein Sadik, 51, thinks Americans pay too much for gasoline. That's just one of the reasons they are stupid, he allegedly told a Norwalk police officer Monday morning after demanding that the officer shovel the snow from his driveway.
Sadik, who lives at 14 Third St., dialed 911 at 6 p.m. Saturday for what is listed as an "unknown complaint" on the incident log. He is in the log again for a call at 12:50 p.m. Sunday. The 3:38 a.m. call Monday is the one that got him arrested.
Sgt. James Boff said that Sadik called 911 at 22 minutes past midnight Monday to complain about snow around his car. He ranted and hung up. Then he called again, ranted and hung up. On the third call, at 3:38 a.m., the 911 operator asked what his emergency was. Sadik said there was snow around his car in the driveway.
An officer was dispatched. Sadik ordered the officer to shovel his car out, a car which has no license plates on it, according to the officer. The officer refused, which caused more ranting. The officer tried to get Sadik to go in his house, which resulted in swear words.
"I don't have to listen to you," Sadik is quoted as saying. He followed the officer to his patrol car, then went back to his driveway, where he slipped and fell. He called the officer stupid.
The officer drove a short distance away and waited to see if Sadik would call 911 again. According to the report, he did. When the officer returned, Sadik allegedly said he was an Egyptian boxer and would kick the officer's a--. He advanced toward the officer, who pushed him back. Sadik is quoted as saying, "Your president is stupid and you pay too much for gas. I'm not afraid of any stupid American."
Boff said Sadik asked if he could smoke marijuana, which the man said was prescribed for a medical condition. He was told no. Boff said he lit one anyway.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and falsely reporting an incident. Bond was $400.
