Severe Weather Expected Tonight in Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — An approaching cold front could trigger severe thunderstorms in Fairfield County on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms are predicted to hit Tuesday afternoon and evening. With the approaching cold front and the current warm and humid air, the weather service is predicting strong winds and large hail to accompany any storms. The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for Fairfield County.

There could also be frequent "cloud to ground lightning," the weather service said. 

The National Weather Service suggests that residents keep an eye to the sky for incoming clouds and to check with weather service providers for up-to-date information.
