Rain May Be Heavy in Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Rain and thunderstorms are in store for Fairfield County over the next two days, with up to 2 inches possibly falling by the end of the week.

Rain should start early today and continue through Wednesday, the National Weather Service says. The heaviest rain may fall during the day today, with three-quarters of an inch to an inch possible, the Weather Service says.

Another half-inch could fall tonight, and showers are likley to continue through Wednesday, the Weather Service says.

Temperatures will be in the high 60s and low 70s during the days, the Weather Service says.

The rain may provide relief for a region that is still suffering from drought after a dry late winter and spring.

Last month was the third warmest April on record in the United States, and it has been the warmest start to any year since record-keeping began in 1895, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says.
