Fairfield County Under Thunderstorm Watch

Remember that incredible thunderstorm a few weeks ago? Well, it's possible that another one may be on the way.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch through 9 p.m. Friday evening for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York. This includes Fairfield County.

"Conditions are conducive to the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area," The Weather Channel states. "Lightning can cause power surges. Unplug electronics before the storm hits. Follow weather reports using a mobile device or battery-powered radio."

The website's prediction through 8 p.m.: "A few isolated thunderstorms are possible. Cloudy with temperatures slowly falling to near 74. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent."
