Cooler Temps Follow Norwalk Rain

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Cooler weather will bring a full blast of fall to Fairfield County after steady rain Thursday afternoon. Temperatures could drop into the 40s on Thursday night, the National Weather Service says. 

Rain is forecast to increase during the day Thursday, with heavier downpours expected in the afternoon. Temperatures should be in the mid-70s during the day, the Weather Service says. 

The temperature will drop to as low as 47 degrees as the rain ends Thursday night. But Fairfield County is in store for spectacular fall days through the weekend. The forecast for Friday is sunny with a high of 64 with temperatures in the 40s again Friday night, the Weather Service says. 

Saturday brings a high of 68 and Sunday should hit 70. 

Tropical Storm Maria, which can be seen in the lower right corner of the map above, is not expected to hit the U.S.
