3 To 5 Inches Of Snow Expected To Fall Across Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With 3 to 5 inches of snow expected to begin falling before sunrise, the National Weather Service has declared a Winter Weather Advisory from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. across all of Fairfield County.

A total of 3 to 5 inches of wet snow is expected to fall -- more in some places -- across southwestern Connecticut, the lower Hudson Valley and Long Island, the weather service said.

Drivers should be prepared to face snow, sleet and freezing rain, which could cause travel difficulties, slippery roads and limited visibility.

A mix of light rain and snow will begin falling after midnight and become heavier and change to all snow by Monday morning, the weather service said. Visibility could be a half-mil or less into the afternoon.

Snow will continue falling throughout the afternoon and taper off by Monday evening.

The heavy, wet snow could cause tree branches or power lines to fall, causing power outages and disrupting travel.

Winds will be 10 to 15 mph with temperatures in the low 30s.
