Wallet Stolen At Darien YMCA Found At Stamford Mall Minus Hundreds In Cash, Police Say
A man who had his wallet stolen from the Darien YMCA had it returned later the same day by a Good Samaritan who found it at a mall, intact, but missing $200 in cash.
The incident took place around 11:50 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, when the victim reported to Darien Police that their wallet had been stolen while taking a class at the YMCA, said Sgt. James Palmieri.
According to the victim, they had placed the wallet in a locker but failed to lock the locker. When he returned around 1230 p.m., his wallet was gone.

WILTON, Conn. -- A man driving a van smashed a car window and stole a purse at the Wilton YMCA last week, according to police.
On Friday, Dec. 29 a dark colored van was seen driving into the parking lot of the YMCA at around 5:30 p.m., police said. A man described as a black male with a goatee, wearing a knit hat and jeans, was seen getting out of the van and looking inside parked cars with a flashlight, police said.
