Honda Recalls 1.6M Vehicles Due To Potentially Deadly Airbags
Honda is recalling 1.6 million vehicles nationwide due to potentially deadly Takata airbag inflators, completing its required recall of nearly 13 million vehicles. The recall will affect Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Takata used ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion and inflate airbags in a collision. Ford Issues Recall For 1.2 Million Vehicles
Ford is recalling more than a million vehicles after announcing three safety recalls that could impact U.S. customers. The largest of the recalls impact Explorer SUV models that were produced from 2011 through 2017 due to a fractured rear toe leak in the suspension. In total, that recall is impacting approximately 1.2 million vehicles. Rollaway Risk Leads To Recall Of 300K Fiat Chrysler Vehicles
Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 320,000 Dodge Dart compact cars throughout the country that may have a defective transmission that could allow the vehicles to roll away. The company announced the recall - which covers all models from 2013 through 2016 - on Friday, when it was determined that the defect could prevent the vehicle from being shifted into “park.” There have been no reported injuries or crashes connected to the faulty transmission, Fiat Chrysler noted. Acura was forced to hit the brakes and recall nearly 325,000 vehicles due to potentially leaky taillight assemblies. The company announced that more than 323,000 MDX crossovers have been recalled nationwide due to faulty brake lights. Models produced between 2014 and 2019 are subject to be recalled, according to Acura’s official statement that was released this week. Thirty-four drivers started the morning off on the wrong foot when they hit a large piece of metal in the roadway and got flat tires in return. The multiple flat tires were reported around 8 a.m., Monday, April 8, while exiting westbound I-84 west onto the northbound Route 8 ramp in Waterbury, near Mixmaster, the Connecticut State Police said. Several truck drivers and their vehicles have been removed from the road in New Canaan as local and state police conducted a special detail targeting tractor-trailers in the area. Members of the New Canaan Police Department Patrol Division and the Connecticut State Police Traffic Unit’s Truck Squad conducted the special detail from 7 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Smoke could be seen billowing through the air on I-95 on Friday afternoon, when a car went up in flames on the side of the interstate in Norwalk. Crews worked quickly to knock down the flames of the fire, which sparked in the engine of a car and fully engulfed it at approximately 1:30 p.m., Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Shay said. The fire was swiftly put out and the driver was able to get away from the blaze without suffering any injuries. The front end of the vehicle was destroyed. A 32-year-old Fairfield County woman took a wild ride in her vehicle when she lost control and ended up airborne before hitting two vehicles in a business parking lot. Kim Kkotsaem, 32, of Redding, was arrested by Wilton Police following the crash that took place around 10:56 a.m. Friday, July 6 on Danbury Road, said Lt. Robert Kluk.
