Fairfield County Man Dies In Ski Accident At Vermont Resort A Fairfield County resident who died in a skiing accident in Vermont has been identified by police. Arthur Powers, age 60, from Westport, was found dead around 2:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, when Stowe EMS responded to the Stowe Mountain Resort for a skier who was injured after hitting a tree, said Chief Donald B. Andrew Hryb, 36, of Darien, was killed on Saturday, Feb. 29, when he accidentally went off-trail at the Stowe Mountain Resort in Cambridge and fell off a cliff, Vermont State Police said.  His brother, Alexander Hyrb, 35, of Norwalk, suffered minor injuries in the incident. CT Man, 36, Dies In Vermont Ski Accident A 36-year-old man from Connecticut died in a skiing accident in Vermont over the weekend, state police announced. Vermont state police responded to the Stowe Mountain Resort in Cambridge at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, where there was a report of two skiers who went off-trail, with one falling off a cliff. Following an hours-long search, crews found the Connecticut man at the base of a cliff. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
