One Killed In Head-On Crash Near Monroe/Easton Border A man was killed during a two-vehicle head-on crash near the Monroe/Easton border over the weekend. The crash took place around 5:33 p.m., Sunday,  July 14, on Route 59 in the area of 757 Stepney Road, said Easton Police Chief Timothy Shaw.  When officers arrived on the scene they found multiple injured victims in both vehicles, he said. Members of the Easton Fire Department deployed their hydraulic extrication tools in an effort to assist in getting the occupants out of the vehicles for necessary medical assistance. Two Killed After Jeep Crashes Off Road Into Ravine In Newtown Two occupants of a Jeep were killed after it crashed off the road and into a ravine overnight in Northern Fairfield County. The crash occurred on Route 34 (Berkshire Road) in the area of Jordan Hill Road in Newtown at about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 23, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde of the Newtown Police Department. Police say that the older model Jeep Cherokee had driven off the westbound shoulder of Route 34 into a hundred foot, heavily wooded ravine, according to police.
