New Canaan Woman Nabbed For Driving Under Influence Of Drugs, Police Say A Fairfield County woman has been charged with allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after a vehicle crash. Patricia Pamela Petraglia, age 71, of New Canaan, was found sitting in a vehicle in the driveway of a Silvermine Road residence on Monday, March 4 after leaving a crash in Darien. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, officers spoke with the operator and identified her as Petraglia. Officers detected that Petraglia was impaired, however it was not due to alcohol. Police responded to a crash in the 400 block of Silvermine Road in New Canaan at about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, according to the New Canaan Police Department.  Authorities said the vehicle was reported to have traveled off the road and crashed into a fence. Horse Barn Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County No horses were injured when a two-alarm horse barn fire broke out on the land of a private residence in Fairfield County. The blaze broke out around 5 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, in New Canaan, on Silvermine Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found the three-stall barn with a hayloft fully engulfed in flames,  said Assistant Fire Chief Albe Bassett, of the New Canaan Fire Department. Elizabeth Moran, age 52, of New Canaan, was charged on Tuesday, May 25, for the incident which took place on Saturday, April 10 in the area of Silvermine Road, said Lt. Woman Faces DUI Charge Following Crash In Fairfield County A woman was arrested for alleged DUI after turning herself in to police for a crash that took place earlier this year in Fairfield County. Blaine Stiegler, 32, of Westport, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 5, in connection with the crash which took place around 5 p.m., Saturday, August 22, said the New Canaan Police. Stiegler turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest, police said. On the day of the crash, which took place on Silvermine Road, police said Stiegler had a blood alcohol level of .37 percent or more than three times the legal limit.
