Missing Stamford Man Found Dead In Wooded Area In New Canaan A missing Fairfield County man was found dead in a wooded area during a search by police. The incident occurred in New Canaan shortly after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. According to Lt. Man Attacks Officer While Fleeing Scene Of Crash In Trumbull, Police Say A  man was apprehended after he assaulted a police officer before allegedly fleeing from the scene of a motor vehicle crash in Fairfield County and leading police on a search that lasted for several hours.  The incident began Wednesday, Dec. 9, in the evening, when Damien A.
