Three-Alarm Fire Rips Through Former Factory
A massive three-alarm fire that ripped through a former factory in Fairfield County is under investigation. The blaze began Saturday, June 13 at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the old Star Pin Factory building in Shelton at 273 Canal Street East. First-arriving fire department units found a well involved and well-advanced fire in the 114-year-old abandoned factory, the Shelton Fire Department said. Missing Westport Woman Found
Update: A Westport woman who went missing in Shelton on Friday has been found in Stratford and is safe. Margaret Dowdy, 67, was found by Shelton Police early Saturday morning after last being seen in Pine Rock Park in Shelton Friday morning. Original report: Authorities are seeking the public's help in their search for a 67-year-old Fairfield County woman who went missing on Friday morning, Feb. 9.
