Humpback Whale Sighting In Hudson River Near Statue Of Liberty Captured On Video
Some New Yorkers had their “Call me Ishmael” moment when a Humpback whale was spotted and caught on camera in the Hudson River near the Statue of Liberty before being followed by other sightings in that area. Photographer Bjoern Kils, who runs the New York Media Boat that tours around New York City, captured a photo of a humpback whale during a trip on Tuesday, Dec. 8, that has since gone viral. 7-Eleven Is Testing Stores Without Cashiers In Select Markets
An app may be replacing traditional cashiers at some 7-Eleven locations across the country. The retail giant announced it is testing out stores that will not require cashiers in an effort to improve speed and convenience for customers. The pilot program began in Irving, Texas, though 7-Eleven is expected to roll it out to more stores throughout the year. First Amazon Go Store Debuts In New York City
The future has come to New York, as Amazon Go opened its first store to accept cash in Manhattan - the first to accept cash in the country. The 1,300-square-foot store opened its doors on Tuesday across the street from One World Trade Center on the second level of the Brookfield Place Mall. Amazon launched its first Amazon Go store last year, a checkout-free grocery store that opened its flagship store in Seattle in 2018 after experimenting with physical retail locations for several years.
