Restaurant Workers Save Person From Raging Fire In Norwalk A person burned during a blaze in Fairfield County was rescued by good Samaritans who work at a nearby restaurant.  The incident occurred in Norwalk on Friday, April 26, in the rear of 607 Main Ave.  According to Deputy Chief Jonathan Maggio of the Norwalk Fire Department, arriving firefighters found a 1,000-square-foot area of brush burning between the Norwalk River and the rear parking area. The incident took place in Norwalk around 12:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, in the area of Moody's Lane. Police responded after the department received multiple 911 calls of a vehicle submerged in the Norwalk River, said Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police. Juan Garcia and Donald Remson received a Civilian Recognition Award on Monday, Dec. 17 for the actions they displayed in an incident earlier in the month. On Saturday, Dec. 8, Garcia witnessed a woman attempting to jump off Stroffolino Bridge. He exited his vehicle while telling his daughter, who was with him at the time, to call 911. $34.5M Plan To Replace Imax Theater At Maritime Aquarium Still Alive A subcommittee of the Norwalk Common Council has endorsed a settlement agreement under which the state of Connecticut would pay The Maritime Aquarium $34.5 million to replace its popular IMAX Theater. Under the agreement, the state Department of Transportation would pay the aquarium to replace the theater and lost exhibit space due to the upcoming replacement of the Walk Bridge over the Norwalk River, according to news reports. The legal settlement  covers replacement of the aquarium’s 20,000-gallon seal tank with a 150,000-gallon tank that meets modern standards and guidelines. According …
