Nearly three dozen area residents were arrested by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley.

On Friday, Dec. 20, State Police from Brewster arrested Michael A. Verella, 44, of Somers, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Doctor In Fairfield County Accused Of Stealing Millions From Patients
A Westchester eye doctor who had practices throughout the Hudson Valley and Fairfield County is facing charges for health care fraud.
Ameet Goyal, 56, of Rye, who operates The Eye Associates Group, with practices in Rye, Mount Kisco, Wappingers Falls and in Greenwich, was arrested and charged by federal officials for allegedly fraudulently billing patients.
The indictment alleges that between 2010 and 2017, Goyal was billing patients, Medicare, and private insurance programs millions of dollars for complex eye surgeries that were never actually performed. The complaint states that Goyal and…

A Mount Kisco resident and shop owner, six-year Bedford school board member Suzanne Grant, died Sunday, Sept. 1, at age 56.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1962, in Rochester to Ronald (deceased) and Dolores Sibs.
Grant was a graduate of Tufts University. She was a member of the Bedford Central School Board for six years, and a local volunteer.
She was also the co-proprietor of PORCH Home + Gifts, a retail store in Mount Kisco.

An office manager in Fairfield County who grew up in and graduated from high school in Northern Westchester has died at age 52..
Carol L. Dreska, (nee Chiacchia) of Sherman, Connecticut, died Thursday, Aug. 15 at Lake Bomoseen, Vermont.
She was the office manager for Neves Electric in Brookfield.
Dreska was born on Feb. 27, 1967, in Mount Kisco, to the late Mario and Patsy Chiacchia. She grew up in Katonah and attended John Jay High School in Cross River.
