22-Year-Old Killed In Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County man was killed during a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to burst into flames.  It took place in Trumbull around 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 in the area of the Monroe Turnpike. According to Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police Department, the crash occurred when an Infiniti collided with a Subaru Crosstrek on the Monroe Turnpike near the intersection of Monroe Turnpike, or Route 111, and Technology Drive. Two Injured In Trumbull Head-On Crash Two people were injured during a head-on crash on Merrimac Drive in Trumbull. The crash took place around 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, with both the Long Hill and Trumbull Center fire departments responding for a possible entrapment. When units arrived on the scene they found two vehicles with heavy damage and two injured, but no entrapment, said the Long Hill Fire Department. "Just this morning, (Jan. 2, 2019) we have become aware that a group of scammers are again actively calling Trumbull residents posing as our department asking for donations.," the department said on Facebook. Car Lands On Top Of Stone Wall In Trumbull Crash A car landed right on top of a stone wall during a single-vehicle crash. The incident took place around 11:20 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 in the area of Madison Avenue and Saxony Drive, said officials with the Long Hill Fire Department in Trumbull on Facebook. When firefighters and Trumbull EMS, arrived on scene they found a car on top of a stone wall, perfectly centered. EMS provided treatment to the driver of the car, who was the only occupant at the time of the crash, while fire crews checked for any hazards. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
