Police are accusing a secretary at a Connecticut high school of using the administration's Amazon account to spend more than $40,000 over five years on gifts for herself and other employees at the Tolland County school, authorities said. Christine Vardanian, age 56, of Marlborough in Hartford County, is charged with first-degree larceny, Connecticut State Police said on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Police Seek Jewelry Owner Following Vandalism at CT Cemetery
Police in Connecticut are seeking the owner of a piece of jewelry stolen by a juvenile who allegedly vandalized a cemetery, taking items from the gravesites. The incident occurred in Windham County on Sunday, July 14, at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Killingly. According to Connecticut State Police, troopers and Killingly Police responded to the cemetery on Maple Street after receiving a report of criminal mischief. More than $350,000 worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from two apartments in Trump Tower over the weekend. Police in Manhattan are investigating the reports of two thefts inside apartments on the 42nd and 59th floor of the building. A 67-year-old woman reported five pieces worth $236,000 were missing from a drawer in her closet, police said. She was reportedly away from the apartment between June 21 and Monday, Sept. 9. Women's clothing and footwear company Nine West announced on Friday that it has filed for bankruptcy, listing debts of more than $1 billion. Norwalk Police Seek Suspect Who Used Stolen Credit Cards To Buy Jewelry
NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police are seeking a person suspected of stealing someone's credit cards and using them to buy jewelry and handbags in Trumbull and Greenwich. Police said that on Oct. 19, 2017, the suspect made several thousand dollars worth of fraudulent purchases of jewelry and handbags at the Trumbull Mall and at Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich, using the victim's store credit cards. Ring, Earrings Reported Stolen From Darien Home
DARIEN, Conn. — A resident of Allen O'Neill Drive reported that jewelry was stolen from her home during the holidays, Darien police said. The complaint was made Jan. 4, but the homeowner said the items were last seen the evening of Dec. 18, police said. She described the missing jewelry as a pair of “dangle” earrings worth $50 and a gold braided ring worth $500, police said. The items were taken from a drawer in her bathroom, police said.
