Police in Fairfield are warning homeowners to be on high alert after several local residents reported that they had been contacted by a group of fraudsters soliciting funding for the police department’s popular K-9 Unit. Several residents have complained recently, claiming that a group unaffiliated with the department has made the rounds, collecting funds to outfit the unit with ballistic vests.
