Hit-And-Run: Driver Charged With Injuring Pedestrian In Stamford Crosswalk STAMFORD, Conn. — Thanks to quick-thinking witnesses who took photos of the fleeing car, Stamford police were able to make an arrest in a hit-and-run that left a man lying injured in a busy roadway on Saturday afternoon, according to the Stamford Advocate.  A 53-year-old man told police that he had waited for the signal as he crossed High Ridge Road near Square Acre Drive in the crosswalk, the Advocate said.   When a car came at him at a high rate of speed, he jumped back but was struck on the left side of his body and hit his head in the roadway, the Stamford Advocate said.
