Person Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Friendly's Restaurant In CT A person was taken to a hospital after a car crashed into a Friendly's restaurant location in Connecticut.  The incident happened in Hartford County on Sunday, Nov. 19, when a car crashed into the Friendly's in Newington at 3420 Berlin Turnpike (Route 5), according to the Newington Volunteer Fire Department.  Following the crash, firefighters shut off utilities and remained at the scene until the town's building department arrived.  One person suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. The cause of the crash was not released.

Friendly’s Opens First Fast-Casual Cafe Restaurant chain Friendly's has launched its first fast-casual cafe.  The company announced that it has opened its first "Friendly's Cafe" in Hampden County, Massachusetts.  The eatery is located at 291 East Main St. in Westfield. Friendly's Closes 23 Restaurants, Including One In Fairfield County Friendly's is closing 23 more of its restaurants in the Northeast, including in New York and Connecticut. The closures will occur when the leases are up of the affected restaurants. "While this was a tough decision, we are confident it will best position the brand for a bright future," Friendly's CEO George Mitchell wrote in a letter to franchise owners in April.
