Tonya Kathleen Gwynn, age 76, was arrested in New Canaan on Sunday, July 23 when an officer spotted her driving on South Avenue near Farm Road with no lights and operating erratically, said police. Michael James Slocum, age 32, of Stamford, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 31, after officers in New Canaan were dispatched to the area of South Avenue and Farm Road on a report of a road rage incident that had occurred between two motorists. 12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In Fairfield County, Police Say A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. Speeding Stop Leads To DUI Charge For Darien Teen, New Canaan Police Say A speeding stop in the area led to the arrest of a teenager who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, police said. Darien resident Douglas James Werner, 19, was stopped by a New Canaan Police officer shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, for allegedly speeding in a posted 25 mph zone on Farm Road near the intersection of White Oak Shade Road. According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop, the officer “detected signs of impairment” in Werner, and he proceeded to fail Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
