A 22-year-old Norwalk man has been charged after police say he was found passed out behind the wheel in Greenwich. Greenwich Police say they were dispatched to the area of Frontage Road and Delavan Avenue on a report of a truck with its lights on parked in the middle of the road on Sunday, Oct. 20 around 5 a.m. Officers approached the vehicle and allegedly observed the driver sleeping behind the wheel. A Westchester woman has been charged after police say she was drunkenly involved in a Greenwich crash and unaware of where she was. Greenwich Police say they were dispatched to the area of 286 Delavan Avenue on a report of a vehicle in the roadway that was facing the wrong way around 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26. A man is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop in Greenwich, according to police. Greenwich Police were on patrol in the area of Delavan Avenue and Frontage Road in Byram when they allegedly observed a motorist traveling east on Delavan Avenue on Saturday, May 18 around 8:30 p.m. Police say they initiated a traffic stop on W Ritch Avenue after confirming that the vehicle did not have a front license plate. A Norwalk man is facing DUI charges after a crash in Greenwich, according to police. Greenwich Police say they responded to the area of Chestnut Street and Delavan Avenue in Byram on the report of a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, May 19 around 2:45 a.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the offending vehicle, identified as Oscar Munoz, 33, was displaying signs of impairment, according to police. A Fairfield County man driving a work van was busted with alleged heroin and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Greenwich. Officers from the Greenwich Police Department on patrol at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 stopped Norwalk resident Johan Wallenberg, 42, near the intersection of Delavan Avenue and Frontage Road. An allegedly drunk driver was busted by police in Fairfield County after being involved in an early morning weekend crash near an I-95 exit ramp in Greenwich. Crash Causes I-95 Delays
This story has been updated. There were lengthy delays on a stretch of I-95 after a crash that initially blocked the right lane near the border of Greenwich and Port Chester late Tuesday morning. The crash was northbound between Delavan Avenue (Exit 2) and Arch Street (Exit 3), with stop-and-go delays of up to a half hour to I-287 (Exit 21) in Westchester until the lane reopened around 12:30 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
