Running Red Light Lands Felon Behind Bars For Drugs, Gun, Police Say
A 35-year-old convicted felon landed behind bars after allegedly running a red light in front of a police officer in Fairfield County.
Ramon Capacete, of Seymour, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Shelton after police officer John Kekac stopped his vehicle for running a red light on Bridgeport Avenue, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.
After stopping Capacete, Kekac discovered the vehicle was not registered or insured and that Capacete did not have a driver's license, Bango said.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Monroe man outside a variety store.
Richard Brown, of Bridgeport, was charged Tuesday, Sept. 24, with manslaughter, carrying a gun without a permit, and criminal possession of a firearm, in connection with the Sunday, Sept. 1, death 41-year-old Jose Perez-Ortiz, said Bridgeport Police Lt. Christopher LaMaine.
Perez-Ortiz was shot during a dispute at the store on the corner of Noble Avenue and Shelton Street after he is seen on video surveillance allegedly attempting to stab another man.

Two men well-known to police were nabbed for alleged possession of a high-powered gun during a search warrant raid at a Stamford home.
Jaden Brayboy, 18, and Tyrik Gill, 20, both of Stamford, were arrested Sunday around 8:30 p.m. following a search of a home on Finney Lane by the Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit and SRT Team, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
