CT Lawmakers Move To Legalize Recreational Marijuana, With Prodding By Lamont Connecticut may see if the grass really is greener on the other side as lawmakers push to legalize recreational marijuana. This week, state lawmakers will return to the Capitol in Hartford for a special session to debate the merits of legalizing marijuana for adults over the age of 21. The Special Session begins on Wednesday, June 16. The bill had previously passed in the Senate with a 19-17 vote, though the Senate will have to revote now that it has gone into a special session. Covid-19: Number Of CT Red Alert Cities, Towns Climbs To 30 As Positivity Rate Hits 6.1 Percent More municipalities have been added to Connecticut's “Red Alert” list as COVID-19 cases continue to climb. A total of 30 municipalities have now been designated at “red,” which means they’ve seen more than 15 cases per 100,000 residents per day. That's an increase of 11 from the previous list of 19 locales. (See first image above.)
