Suspect In 20-Plus CT Armed Robberies, Carjackings Apprehended, Being Held On $2.5M Bond A 24-year-old man wanted in Connecticut for a string of armed robberies and car jackings has been apprehended. On Friday, Dec. 17, the State Police Bureau of Special Investigations initiated an operation to locate and apprehend Christian Velez, who had been wanted by several agencies including the FBI.  Velez is suspected of having committed over 20 armed robberies with firearms, numerous car-jackings, and several assaults across Connecticut spanning back to September, state police said. CT State Police Investigating Multiple Armed Robberies Connecticut State Police are asking for help in cracking four burglaries carried out by the same man.  Troop F in Westbrook, along with Middletown Police, are currently investigating the four separate armed robberies at area gas stations that have occurred in the early morning hours between Aug. 21 and Wednesday, said state police.
