Wilton Man 2nd Among State Runners in NYC Marathon

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Wilton’s Jeff Ragazzini finished second among Connecticut men in Sunday’s ING New York City Marathon. Ragazzini ran 2:38:44 and was 115th overall in a field of over 40,000 runners.

Ragazzini is a 2007 graduate of Wilton High School who also competed at Tufts University. The top Connecticut male was Thomas Holowka, who finished 93rd overall in 2:36:37.

Stamford’s Jeff Watson ran 2:47.57, and was also among the top runners from Connecticut. 

Sharon Vos of Old Greenwich won her age group for the third straight year and fifth year overall with a time of 3:11:29. Stamford’s Arturo Montero, who ran the first New York City Marathon in 1970, finished in 4:56:25. It was the 26th time Montero has completed the marathon.

Complete results were not yet available as of 1 p.m. Monday on the New York City Marathon website. Individual results can be found through a marathon tracking service, but it does not include overall placings. More finishers results will be posted when they become available.
